Two Worlds

My house and heart I must divide

Only with time will the hurt subside

Life between worlds too different to compare
Loss of love and family feels too hard to bare

One life as the respectful child
Good tempered & responsible, though not always mild.

One life as the loving 'wife'
Laughing with him for the rest of my life

Though he is my dearest friend
I am the one on which they must depend

I toss & turn in my lonely bed
Images of him floating through my head

But what is right is not always what is easy
Sacrifices must be made for the sake of family.

"Aha" in Wonderland

When Alice ran to Wonderland
We remarked in awe
A quaint adventure of a little girl
is what we usually saw

But look at what you really see
past each character and simile

Life reflected back on you
Fantasy mixed with something true

Alice will tumble far
the holes in life are often deep
but there is always a bottom
regardless of how steep

Her journey takes her back home again
But she is changed thanks to where she's been

Wonderland was full of danger and delight
Much as reality is a concoction of wrong and right

Follow not the Cheshire cat
tricksters will lead you astray
Only you and your true heart
can lead you on your way

Alice met many different foes as she traveled forward
We too must face our Jabberwocky's with our vorpal sword

Each person met is a lesson needed to be learned
Lest not forget the Mad Hatter's madness was something that he earned

The Queen of Hearts screams
'Off with their heads!"
Because she wants to rip
Her own to shreds.

These person's filled with insolence
have lost their hope and innocence

Patience and kindness may be hard to find
but their hatred isn't you, it's in their own mind

They became a part of the darkness as many often do
Be the beacon of light that helps them see whats true

The White Queen needs not
Raise her voice,
Between evil and good
There is no choice.

Be as the queen with a pure heart
Even as the world becomes more dark

You too will find home again
Just follow the path you find within

The rabbit may be
Running terribly late
But time will determine
Each player’s fate

Has, Is, Will

He has been my wise teacher
He is my sunshine
He will always be my best friend
He has been my biggest fear
He is my dictionary
He will always be my confidant
He has been my greatest foe
He is my comic relief
He will always be my shoulder
