No Regrets

Sometimes I wish I could turn back time,
Sometimes I wish I could have picked a different line.
A different path to follow, a different way to go.
All the sights I'll never see, all the things I'll never know.

The things I've seen, the things I've learned.
The hearts I've broken, the bridges I've burned.
I've hated the heart that grew black in my chest.
The face in the mirror was an unrecognized pest.

Now, I step back and remember all the moments of life:
Every second of joy, every recovery from strife.
Sometimes I remember what has brought me here,
Sometimes I remember the times I overcame fear.

Every success, every goal that I've met.
Life is too short to live with regret
I am who I am because of where I have been.
I am who I am because of who I was then.
