Painting with Poetry

The grandest of Art
is painted on the page
colors formed by black and white.

It begins with gobs of words
Each one a stroke of genius
Meant to make greatness

The First layer laid
is unremarkable
to the onlooking eye

Base outline drawn
Perhaps a river in the distance
A snow covered peak

Then an artist adds the
highlights, low tones
Adjectives and Similes

Painting pretty pictures
Like Michelangelo, Who
Used colors that touched Adam to God

Writers write a painted glory.
Each passing word a Piece
that makes the Master whole
